Skin Gets To Heal Here
Anua makes PDRN skincare for people who are done layering ten steps just to end up with the same dull, tight, easily-irritated skin. PDRN — the salmon-derived ingredient dermatologists have been injecting into skin for years — is the whole reason we exist: we wanted it out of clinic vials and into something you could actually use every night without a needle involved. So that’s what we built the brand around, not a shelf of trendy extras that photograph well but don’t do much once you’re home and the packaging’s in the recycling.
Getting there wasn’t a matter of tossing PDRN into a formula and calling it done. The stuff is finicky — stable at the wrong pH and it does nothing, paired with the wrong actives and it fights itself. So formulation meant a lot of batches that looked fine on paper and did nothing on skin, reformulated until the PDRN was actually still active by the time it reached a jar six months later. That’s the part that doesn’t show up on a label: shelf-stability testing, redoing a serum because it worked in week one but not week twelve, choosing “it takes longer to make” over “it’s easier to sell.”
We’re making this for the skin that’s tried everything and is tired of being an experiment — barrier that’s had enough, redness that flares if you look at it wrong, skin that’s stopped responding to whatever’s newest. You don’t need eleven products fighting for space on your face. You need the one ingredient that’s actually shown it can repair something, in a formula that doesn’t ask you to gamble on the rest of your routine to make it work.

Small Drops, Common Questions
PDRN, short for polydeoxyribonucleotide, is a molecule sourced from salmon DNA that’s known for supporting the skin’s natural repair and hydration processes. It’s paired with hyaluronic acid here, which helps the skin hold onto moisture and look plumper over time.
It’s formulated to be non-comedogenic and tested for low irritation, which generally makes it a reasonable option for sensitive or breakout-prone skin. Patch testing on a small area first is still worth doing for anyone with known allergies or reactive skin, since individual reactions can vary.
The dropper and capsule-style delivery help keep more delicate ingredients, like PDRN, stable and fresh until the moment of use, since these compounds can break down faster once exposed to air and light repeatedly. It also makes it easier to control how much comes out with each use.
A few drops are typically pressed or patted onto clean skin before heavier creams or oils, since lighter, water-based formulas tend to absorb best when applied first. Morning and evening use is common, with sunscreen recommended afterward during the day to guard against sun exposure.
A temporary boost in hydration and a slight plumping effect is often noticeable after a single use, though deeper, longer-lasting changes to moisture levels tend to build with consistent daily application over several weeks. Results can vary depending on skin type, climate, and the rest of a routine.
A cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight helps preserve the ingredients, since heat and light can cause certain actives to break down faster. Most formulas like this hold up well for six to twelve months after opening, though checking the packaging for a period-after-opening symbol or batch code is the most reliable way to confirm.
